Print and scan for authorised users only.
Docuflair Access Control
Protect confidential documents from unauthorised access: Only authenticated users can print, scan or copy – with card authentication, pull-printing and individual policies per user and group.
What is Docuflair Access Control?
Docuflair Access Control is an on-premises security solution that restricts access to multifunction devices through authentication methods such as card access, PIN codes and mobile login. Designed for organisations that handle confidential documents, it ensures only authorised users can print, scan or copy at the device. Its pull-printing capability holds jobs in a secure queue until the user authenticates, eliminating unattended printouts and reducing waste. Docuflair Access Control integrates with Active Directory, supports fine-grained policies per user and group, and is fully GDPR-compliant.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most important questions about Docuflair Access Control
Which authentication methods are supported?
Docuflair Access Control supports various authentication methods: card access (optionally with PUK code), PIN code entry (optionally with PUK code), username and password, self-card registration with biometric methods and mobile applications via smartphone apps.
How does secure pull-printing work?
With pull-printing, documents are only printed after successful user authentication. You send the document to the printer, log in at the device with card, PIN code or password, and can then have your documents automatically printed or select from the queue. This prevents confidential documents from being left unattended in the output tray.
How is integration with existing user management systems achieved?
Docuflair Access Control integrates seamlessly with existing systems via Active Directory and databases. The system automatically synchronises users and groups, eliminating the need for duplicate user management. You manage access permissions centrally, and the system automatically transfers them to all devices.
Can users independently register new cards?
Yes, with self-card registration, users independently register new cards at the multifunction device. When an unknown card is detected, the system prompts for registration. After logging in with PIN code or username/password, the new card is automatically linked to the user account.
What security policies can be defined?
You can define fine-grained print policies by user and group: access to specific devices, permitted functions (printing, scanning, copying), colour/black-and-white restrictions, page limits, time windows, cost centre assignment and automatic deletion of uncollected jobs. You can individually customise these policies, and they inherit hierarchically.
How does Access Control help the environment?
Docuflair Access Control significantly reduces paper and toner consumption by preventing unnecessary printouts. Since documents are only printed after conscious authentication, no forgotten or unattended printouts occur. Additionally, print policies can automatically enable duplex printing and enforce colour restrictions, enabling further resource savings.
